New Show, And Other Items of Note

It's been a busy summer for me, and just when I thought things might slow down, we are on the cusp of fall, and I find myself right back in the thick of things!

I have a new show of my pastel landscapes coming up this September 5-27, at Links Bridge Vineyards in Thurmont, MD. If you haven't been, you should mark your calendars now. The vineyard is lovely, the wine tasting is off the chain, and the atmosphere is laid back.

Just the right place for this work that features landscapes in spring, summer, fall and winter. From reflections to clouds, vistas to close-up views, I call this show "A Change of Seasons," and it's been such a pleasure to capture these scenes, both in plein air and from photographs I've taken along my recent journeys.

Come visit me at the reception on Sunday, Sept. 6 between 1-3PM, and make a day of it! The drive is so peaceful, the scenery is breathtaking and the vibes are just perfect for wine tasting and catching up with friends!

If you're interested in painting with me, I also am gearing up for fall abstract class at the Yellow Barn Studio at Glen Echo Park in Glen Echo, MD, and I will also be teaching two abstract classes at the Art League of Alexandria, one set on Wednesdays evenings from 7-10PM and another on Saturday afternoons from 1-4PM.

And registrations are now open and filling for two different pastel weeklong retreats in 2027! One is at the Connecticut River Inn in Glastonbury Connecticut, in April, and the other is at the Hudson River Valley Art Workshops in Greenville, New York at the end of August and the beginning of September.

These are immersive workshops where you can really focus on pastel landscape creations, where we will discuss in depth development of trees, clouds, rivers, beaches, reflections and more. I'm prepared to share all I know and encourage your mastery over these subjects, so you feel confident in creating the works you'll make from now on.

Finally, if you're looking to really combine artistic practice with cultural experience, I have two spaces available for my next vacation workshop to Northern Morocco, May 23-30, 2027! For abstract painters (and their non-artist spouses or friends), this week will focus on painting abstractly from memory. The days will be filled with the sights and sounds of places like Casablanca, Rabat, Asilah, Chefchaouen (the Blue City!), Tangier, Fez and more. For more information or to register for the last two spaces, visit Colors, Light & Atmosphere A Painting Journey Through Northern Morocco with Bryan Jernigan – Moroccan Meraki.

I hope to see you very soon, but if we miss each other, I hope you grab a pumpkin latte, slip into fall and enjoy it to the fullest!
