In this series of work commissioned by the construction firm responsible for the Muse condominiums, I was asked to create five oversized works to be displayed throughout their residential building. These pieces were to marry the inspiration of the Potomac River and the creativity of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, be abstracted and immense in their proportions and feeling. Each piece ranges from five feet by six feet to six feet by 10 feet and incorporates navy, magenta, green, gray and white. I named the series, Beyond the Banks, something that embraces the surrounding area of this vibrant and artistic space.
